I use a structured, cumulative, multi-sensory and research-based literacy programme. The various strands of the programme include: phonemic awareness, phonological awareness, suffixing and coding - all important elements in the development of proficient literacy skills. Morphology (the way words are built by units of meaning) is another key aspect of the learning, and an important addition to sound based literacy skills that dyslexics can find particularly challenging.

There are opportunities for higher order reading and writing skills to be developed and, where appropriate, computer activities are used. The multi-sensory aspect of the programme ensures there are interactive activities and games which make the learning fun! 

After an initial placement, individual literacy needs are determined and the learner is placed on the programme according to their level. Progress is monitored and reviewed regularly.
